Brampton’s five strongest schools are Sacred Heart Separate School (8.1, ranked 313th of roughly 3,050 elementary schools), and on the secondary side North Park and Holy Name of Mary (both 7.2, tied 178th of 747), Turner Fenton (7.1, 201st) and Brampton Centennial (7.0, 220th).

1Sacred Heart Separate School (JK-8)
Sacred Heart posts the best-evidenced elementary results in Brampton: Grade 3 at 100 per cent reading, 95 writing and 86 math; Grade 6 at 92, 92 and 60.
Why this one and not the higher-rated school
Our Lady of Lourdes rates higher at 8.6 and ranks 182nd, but it enrols only about 110 students and its Grade 3 EQAO is suppressed because the cohort is too small to report. With numbers that small, a rating can swing wildly on a handful of children. Sacred Heart’s cohorts are reported and stable, which makes it the more reliable signal.

2North Park Secondary School (9-12)
North Park ties for the best English-language secondary result in Brampton. EQAO shows 68 per cent at or above standard in Grade 9 math and a 91 per cent OSSLT pass rate.
The IBT programme
North Park hosts International Business and Technology, a Regional Learning Choices Program. Entry is by application with a written response or video component, assessed alongside Grade 7 report card results, followed by random computer selection among qualified applicants.
What this means when you buy
Living in Bramalea makes you eligible to apply. It does not place your child in the programme. Any agent telling you a Bramalea address secures IBT is wrong.
3Holy Name of Mary Secondary School (9-12)
Holy Name of Mary is an all-girls school and the only single-sex school in the entire Dufferin-Peel board. EQAO shows a striking split: a 92 per cent OSSLT pass rate against 56 per cent at or above standard in Grade 9 math. Strong literacy, weak measured numeracy.
Address is irrelevant here
It is a regional school, so admission is board-wide by application and not driven by catchment at all. Catholic school eligibility is required. If this school appeals, you do not need to buy in Bramalea to access it.
4Turner Fenton Secondary School (9-12)
Turner Fenton is the Brampton IB school families ask about by name. It runs the Middle Years Programme in Grades 9 and 10 leading into the IB Diploma Programme, with entry points at Grade 9 and again at Grade 11, the latter requiring Grade 11 functions and Grade 10 academic French. EQAO: 64 per cent Grade 9 math, 91 per cent OSSLT. Four per cent of students are gifted-identified, the highest share in Brampton.
IB here is explicitly not catchment-based
The programme is open to eligible students across Brampton, Mississauga and Caledon, and the school states an attendance boundary is not required. Application windows run in November for entry two years later, so the timeline is longer than most families expect.
The second option
Harold M. Brathwaite Secondary on Great Lakes Drive is the other Peel IB host in Brampton. Its Fraser rating is 6.8, ranked 254th, but it posts the best Brampton results on the raw measures — 71 per cent Grade 9 math and 93 per cent OSSLT — so it outperforms its rank.
5Brampton Centennial Secondary School (9-12)
Brampton Centennial is a strong general-stream school in Peel Village, an older part of the city with larger lots. EQAO: 51 per cent Grade 9 math, 88 per cent OSSLT.
A correction worth making
Centennial is sometimes described as hosting Peel’s Advanced Placement and Strings programmes. It does not. Those sit at Central Peel Secondary School. Centennial’s case rests on being a solid neighbourhood school rather than on a specialist stream.

Does buying in a Brampton catchment get my child into IB?
No. Peel’s specialist programmes run as Regional Learning Choices Programs. Admission is by application assessed on Grade 7 results plus a programme component, then a computerised random draw. All self-identifying African, Black, Afro-Caribbean, First Nations, Inuit and Métis students who meet the criteria are admitted without entering the lottery. Everyone else takes their chances.
