For Agents — Ontario Real Estate Professional Resources

Last updated 10 August 2026. A working resource section for real estate professionals — people considering registration, agents thinking about a move, and agents outside the west end who need someone on the ground in Etobicoke. Everything here is sourced to RECO, CREA or the education providers themselves.

Start here

If you are researching how to become a Realtor in Ontario, be careful what you read. The pathway changed substantially in 2025 and most of the pages ranking for it are out of date — they still name a single college, still call the statute REBBA, and still describe an exam structure that no longer exists.

The three guides below are written from RECO’s own current pages and the education providers’ published fee tables, with the access date on every figure. If something could not be verified against an official source, it says so rather than guessing.

The guides

Guide Who it is for What it covers
How to become a Realtor in Ontario People not yet registered The 2025 four-provider model, the five courses and two simulations, published fees, the 24-month limit, and what “Realtor” actually requires
Transferring brokerage in Ontario Registered agents considering a move How a transfer actually works in MyWeb, the 60-day and 30-day rules, the fee, and what RECO does not require
Joining RE/MAX Quantum Realty in Etobicoke Agents considering this brokerage Where we are, what the Etobicoke market actually looks like, and how to start a confidential conversation
Referral partners Agents outside the west end Referring a client into Etobicoke, Mimico, Humber Bay or The Queensway
Time-sensitive, as at 10 August 2026 RECO’s insurance programme renews annually on a 1 September – 31 August cycle. RECO’s published 2026–27 renewal deadline is 14 August 2026, with a premium of $500 plus applicable taxes per agent — unchanged since 2022. RECO states that if payment is not received before 1 September, “your registration will be suspended, and you will not be eligible to trade.” Payment is through MyWeb. Check RECO directly rather than relying on this page.

What changed in 2025, and why most pages are wrong

The point of this section

Not to be clever about competitors. If you are about to spend four thousand dollars and up to two years on a career change, you should be reading something written this year, by someone who checked.

Where I fit, and what this section is not

I am Jatin Dua, a Realtor with RE/MAX Quantum Realty at 799 The Queensway in Etobicoke. One of these four pages is a recruiting page and it says so at the top. The other three are reference material and are written to be useful whether you ever speak to me or not.

Nothing in this section is legal advice or a substitute for RECO’s own guidance. RECO’s fee schedule still carries an “Effective March 1, 2023” notice and its programme fees are set by the education providers, not the regulator — so check the live pages before you budget.

Jatin — your content goes here A short paragraph in your own voice about why you built this section — whether it is genuinely a recruiting play, a professional-community play, or both. Two or three sentences. This sets the tone for the whole hub and I did not want to invent your motivation.
Jatin — your content goes here If you want a photo of the office at 799 The Queensway, or a headshot, tell me and I will place it here. A real photograph of a real office does a lot of work on a recruiting page.

Thinking about a move, or just want to compare notes?

If you are a registered agent weighing a change, or you are partway through the Salesperson Program and want to know what the first year actually looks like, I am happy to have that conversation with no expectation attached. I will tell you honestly if I think somewhere else suits you better.
