Streetsville is no longer a merely-listed village. By-law 0234-2024, passed by Council on 11 December 2024, designated it a Heritage Conservation District under Part V of the Ontario Heritage Act, and on the 105 contributing properties inside it, demolition of a building is simply not permitted. The main street is capped at three storeys with a two-storey minimum, Queen Street South is frozen at two lanes by policy, and Streetsville GO is the only one of Mississauga’s three Milton-line stations that is not a Protected Major Transit Station Area.
