Start eight weeks out: book movers and, for condos, reserve the elevator at both ends early, because weekend slots go fast. Then handle utilities and insurance, address changes, packing, and a closing-day kit. Confirm your lawyer has everything a week before, and keep essentials, documents and valuables with you rather than on the truck.
