My top five restaurants in Port Credit are Snug Harbour (waterfront seafood at 14 Stavebank Rd S), Papa Giuseppe’s (stone-oven pizza and fresh pasta at 26 Lakeshore Rd E), Colossus Greek Taverna (Greek seafood and lamb at 286 Lakeshore Rd E), Shore Grill & Grotto (live music nightly at 71 Lakeshore Rd E) and Spice Lounge & Tapas (Spanish small plates until late at 52 Lakeshore Rd E). The order is my judgement, not an official ranking.
How I chose these five
I picked Port Credit restaurants that publish their own address, menu and booking details, so you can check them before you go. Every pick is on or just off Lakeshore Road East, inside the walkable stretch between the Credit River and the east end of the village.
I wanted range rather than five versions of the same night out. The list covers a waterfront seafood room, a casual Italian spot, a long-running Greek taverna, a lounge with live music and a late-night tapas bar.
- Verified current: each restaurant’s own site lists its address and menus.
- Something specific to order or do: a weekly deal, a set menu, a patio or live music.
- Walkability: all five are a short walk from the Port Credit condo and townhouse streets that most of my clients look at.
I left out chains and places I could not confirm as current on their own site. Port Credit restaurants change hands fairly often, and a list built from old directory entries is how people end up at a closed door.
I have not quoted reviews or star ratings. Prices and promotions below come from the restaurants’ own pages and can change, so check before you book.
1. Snug Harbour Seafood Bar & Grill
What it offers
Snug Harbour is Port Credit’s best-known waterfront restaurant, and its menu centres on fresh fish, seafood and Canadian cuisine. Visit Mississauga describes it as a relaxed waterfront spot that is popular for special occasions.
The restaurant currently lists two seasonal prix fixe menus at $60 and $85 and a $50 seasonal luncheon set, alongside its regular food, dessert and drinks menus.
What to order and when
- Appy Hour: Monday to Friday, 3 to 5 p.m., from October 5 to April 30, with $10 pints and $10 glasses of selected wines.
- Wine Night: Thursdays from 5 p.m. over the same season, with special pricing on wines (vintages excluded).
- Holidays: holiday set menus are available; the restaurant is closed on New Year’s Day.
Practical notes
Address: 14 Stavebank Rd S, on the waterfront. Hours: Sunday to Thursday 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.; Friday and Saturday 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Patios open weather permitting.
Indoor reservations for up to eight people go through the restaurant’s online booking, and groups of nine or more should email or call 905-274-5000 and ask for a manager. Only a limited number of reservations are taken each day.
Who it suits
Snug Harbour suits an anniversary, a visiting-family dinner or a celebration after a closing. If you are new to the area, the off-season Appy Hour is a cheaper way to see the room and the waterfront setting before booking a bigger night.
2. Papa Giuseppe’s
What it offers
Papa Giuseppe’s has been on Lakeshore since 2011 and is the easy answer when you want a relaxed Italian dinner. The kitchen focuses on stone-oven pizza and fresh pasta rolled in-house, with house-made sangria by the pitcher.
What to order and when
- Lasagna Tuesdays: bolognese-style lasagna listed at $16.
- Sangria Sundays: $5 off pitchers.
- Two Can Dine: a $75 deal for two with a salad, a pizza and a bottle of wine.
There is a heated back patio, which the restaurant also uses for private events under the name The Canopy.
Practical notes
Address: 26 Lakeshore Rd E. Hours: Sunday to Thursday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Reservations are taken online, and takeout ordering is available through the site.
It is one of the closest picks to the Hurontario and Lakeshore corner, so it works well for a weeknight dinner if you live in one of the condos near the main intersection.
The weekly deals make it a realistic regular spot rather than a once-a-month treat, which matters if you are pricing out what day-to-day life in Port Credit costs.
3. Colossus Greek Taverna
What it offers
Colossus is a traditional Greek taverna at the east end of the village, with a sister location in downtown Oakville. The menu covers Greek appetizers, pastas, fresh fish and lamb specialties, with daily featured entrées and homemade desserts.
Visit Mississauga highlights its paella, moussaka and souvlaki, and its seafood platters for groups, which makes it a good choice for a family dinner.
What to order and when
- For a group: a seafood platter to share.
- To drink: the restaurant lists Greek wines and ouzo along with imported beer.
- In warm weather: the Port Credit location lists outdoor seating for 30.
Practical notes
Address: 286 Lakeshore Rd E. Phone: 905-271-2853. The restaurant’s site does not list hours, so call ahead. Tables can be booked online through the site.
Because it sits east of Hurontario, Colossus is the natural local spot for people living along the eastern half of Lakeshore Road East and the streets south toward the lake.
If you split time between Port Credit and Oakville, the sister restaurant is at 221 Lakeshore Rd E in Oakville, with pick-up at the back off Church Street.
4. Shore Grill & Grotto
What it offers
Shore Grill & Grotto is the pick for a night that runs past dinner. The menu lists stone-fired pizzas, Canadian prime steaks, pastas and seafood, and the Lounge has live music seven days a week.
The Boardwalk Patio on Lakeshore Road is open from April through October, and the restaurant highlights its sangria there.
What to order and when
- Dinner: a stone-fired pizza or a steak in the dining room.
- Later: move to the Lounge for the live music; the restaurant’s music page posts the weekly line-up.
- Season: spring through early fall for the patio.
Practical notes
Address: 71 Lakeshore Rd E. Phone: 905-271-9777. Online reservations cover the dining room only, not the live music area, so arrive early for a Lounge table.
The site does not post hours on its contact page, so check the menu or call before you go, especially in winter.
Who it suits
Shore Grill suits couples and friends who want dinner and entertainment in one place without heading into Toronto. It also hosts private functions through its catering page, which is useful for a small housewarming or work dinner.
5. Spice Lounge & Tapas
What it offers
Spice Lounge & Tapas serves Spanish and Mediterranean small plates and is the latest-opening pick on this list. The menu is built for sharing, with sections for aperitivos, salads, tacos and tostadas, flatbreads, seafood and sharable entrées.
Visit Mississauga points to the bone marrow burger and flatbreads, and the restaurant’s own menu lists a blackened ahi tuna among its seafood plates.
What to order and when
- Share: two or three small plates per person plus a flatbread.
- Drink: red sangria and wine are a focus of the menu.
- Timing: good for a late dinner, since the kitchen runs until 11 p.m.
Practical notes
Address: 52 Lakeshore Rd E. Hours: daily 4 p.m. to 2 a.m.; kitchen closes at 11 p.m. Phone: 905-891-8463. Reservations are taken online, and private events are handled separately.
Because it opens at 4 p.m., Spice Lounge is a dinner and late-evening spot, not a lunch option. Pair it with a walk along the water before sunset in the warmer months.

What this means if you’re buying or selling in Port Credit
Port Credit’s appeal is that you can walk to dinner, the lake and the GO train from the same address. All five restaurants sit within a short stretch of Lakeshore Road East, so a condo or townhouse within a few blocks of Hurontario and Lakeshore puts every one of them on foot.
Transit is the other half of the story. Port Credit GO, at 30 Queen Street East, is on the Lakeshore West line with MiWay connections including route 2 Hurontario and route 23 Lakeshore, and the Hurontario LRT is under construction to serve the station. For many buyers, that combination is why they choose a Port Credit condo over a larger unit further inland.
Living close to the restaurants has trade-offs. Units facing Lakeshore Road can hear patio and late-night noise in summer, especially near the lounge and tapas spots. When you view a suite, open the windows on a Friday or Saturday evening and ask how the building handles parking for visitors.
If you are selling, the dining strip is a real selling point, so describe it in your listing by walking distance rather than vague language. I can help you figure out which of these places your buyers will actually walk to.
