The Queensway is a good place to live if you want newer condos or a detached home close to Sherway, Costco, the Gardiner, QEW and Highway 427 at lower prices than many central neighbourhoods. The trade-offs are car-oriented stretches, years of construction as large projects like 1025 The Queensway are built, and heavy condo supply. W08 condo apartments averaged $607,000 in August 2026.
The pros
- Everyday convenience: Sherway Gardens, big-box shopping, grocery stores and Queensway Health Centre nearby.
- Driving access: the Gardiner, QEW and 427 are minutes away.
- Newer buildings: many condos along the strip are recent. See every condo building on The Queensway.
- Detached streets nearby in Stonegate-Queensway.
- Parks: Humber Bay Park and the waterfront are a short drive.
The cons
- Construction: large projects, including the 1025 The Queensway masterplan, and Gardiner work mean years of disruption.
- Supply: many new units can slow resale growth.
- Walkability varies: some stretches are plaza-oriented and car-dependent.
- Transit: mostly bus service to Line 2 stations; no subway on The Queensway itself.
