Read this before you read the ratings
Grocery ratings compress. Everything here sits between 4.1 and 4.3, and the two with huge review bases — Sobeys at 2,765 and NoFrills at 2,508 — are within 0.1 of each other. That spread is noise. Do not choose a condo based on a 0.2 difference between supermarkets.
What actually differs is format and location. Longo’s at 1055 is the premium option, mid-corridor. Cosimo’s NoFrills at 748 is the discount option inside the walkable east cluster. Sobeys at 125 is at the far east end near Park Lawn.
The Ontario Food Terminal is not a grocery store
It appears in every grocery search for this corridor and rates 4.3 across 508 reviews, but the Ontario Food Terminal at 165 The Queensway is a wholesale produce market — where restaurants and independent grocers buy. It is not open to the general public for regular shopping. Worth knowing, because listing copy references it as a nearby amenity in a way that implies otherwise.
Which buildings can actually walk to groceries
- Around 700–800 — Cosimo’s NoFrills at 748 is a genuine walk. Curio at 799 is essentially across the road.
- Around 1000–1100 — Longo’s at 1055 is walkable. Loggia at 1040 and 1050 are very close.
- Everywhere else — a drive or a bus, whatever the Walk Score implies.
Costco is close to the corridor and one of the most searched things about this area, but it is a drive for almost every building here, and it is not a top-up shop.
