Quick answer

Mapping the address of every well-rated restaurant, dentist, groomer, salon, café and grocery store on the corridor puts almost all of them between roughly 620 and 960 The Queensway — a stretch of about a kilometre. Outside it, the corridor is car-dependent.

I mapped the address of every well-rated restaurant, dentist, groomer, salon, café and grocery store on this corridor. The result was clearer than I expected: almost all of them sit between roughly 620 and 960 The Queensway.

That is a stretch of about a kilometre doing nearly all the walkable-amenity work on a corridor that runs several kilometres. It is the single most useful thing I know about this street, and no listing mentions it.

What is actually in the 620–960 stretch

  • Restaurants — Mamma Martino’s (624-B), Novo (664), The Elmwood (753), Posticino (755), Corazon Agave (765), The Blue Horse (848), Wok Boyz (882), Ragu Scratch Pasta (934)
  • Cafés — Studio Charm (621b), Le Petite (696), MoJo (715)
  • Dentists — Queensway Family Dentistry (625C), KM Dental (703), Six Point (768), Kailash (780), Dentistry on the Q (929)
  • Pet services — BARKYARD (621), Top Dogs (628A), Pet House (645), PetPal (784)
  • Salons — Venus Victoria (717), Shades (749), Hair To Hair (816), Off With The Hair (960A)
  • Gyms — Gym & Juice and Fit Mama (both 775A)
  • Grocery — Cosimo’s NoFrills (748)

That is a complete daily life inside about fifteen minutes of walking.

Which buildings sit inside it

Reina at 689 and Curio at 799 are in the middle of it. Anything in the 600–900 range is effectively inside the village.

Loggia at 1040 and 1050 sit just outside the east cluster but have Longo’s at 1055 essentially next door — a different, grocery-anchored convenience.

The Tailor at 1195, IQ at 1185 and the west-end buildings are in big-box territory. Convenient by car, not on foot for independents.

Why this matters more than a Walk Score

Walk Score measures how many amenities sit within a radius. It does not tell you whether those amenities are things you actually want, or whether the walk is pleasant along a six-lane arterial road.

Two buildings on The Queensway can post similar Walk Scores while offering completely different daily lives — one where you walk to dinner and the dentist, one where you drive to a plaza. The number does not distinguish them. The addresses do.

How to use this when you tour

Take the street number of any building you are considering and place it on the ranges above. If it starts with a 6, 7, 8 or low 9, you are in the walkable stretch. If it starts with 11, 12 or higher, plan on driving for most things that are not groceries or a movie.

That one check will tell you more about how it feels to live there than an hour in the sales centre.
