By Jatin Dua · Broker of Record, RE/MAX Quantum Realty · Updated 29 September 2026 · 13 min read — verified facts on the two twisting towers, what is nearby, what Mississauga’s August 2026 condo numbers say, and how to price a unit whose floor plate changes every level.

Short answer

Absolute World is the pair of twisting towers at 50 and 60 Absolute Avenue, at Hurontario Street and Burnhamthorpe Road in Mississauga City Centre. CTBUH lists 60 Absolute Avenue at 56 floors and 427 apartments and 50 Absolute Avenue at 50 floors and 453 apartments, both completed in 2012, developed by Fernbrook Homes and Cityzen and designed by MAD Architects with Burka Architects. TRREB publishes no building prices. Across Mississauga in August 2026, condo apartments sold at a $500,000 median and a $495,052 average, at 97 percent of list price after 45 days. Because each floor plate rotates, suites vary more by floor than in a typical tower, so price from sales of the same stack and floor band.

Source: CTBUH Skyscraper Center entries for 50 and 60 Absolute World; Dezeen’s December 2012 feature on the towers; UrbanToronto. Dezeen gives rounded heights of about 170 and 150 metres. The towers are part of a larger Absolute complex; this guide covers the two twisting towers only.

Why these towers are different

Absolute World is the building people outside Mississauga know. The two towers twist as they rise; Dezeen reported that each floor plate rotates by between one and eight degrees from the one below, wrapped in continuous balconies. Locally they are called the Marilyn Monroe towers. CTBUH notes 60 Absolute Avenue won its regional Best Tall Building award in 2012.

That design has a practical side for owners. Because the floor plate turns, the same suite number on different floors is not always the same suite. Balcony depth, window lines and even the shape of rooms can shift from one level to the next. In a conventional tower, a sale of unit 1205 tells you a lot about unit 1805. Here you need to check that the comparable really matches.

For scale: CTBUH lists 60 Absolute Avenue at 175.6 metres, against 199.2 metres for M City’s M1 and 142 metres for One Park Tower. Height is part of the identity here, but the twist, not the height, is what buyers remember.

Where it sits and what is nearby

The towers stand at the intersection of Hurontario Street and Burnhamthorpe Road, the historic crossroads of downtown Mississauga. Square One Shopping Centre is a short walk away. The City Centre Transit Terminal, Mississauga’s main bus hub, sits at 200 Rathburn Road West on the northwest corner of Square One and is served by MiWay, GO Transit and Brampton Transit.

Hurontario Street is the route of Metrolinx’s Hazel McCallion Line, the Hurontario LRT. Metrolinx lists it as under construction, 18 kilometres from Port Credit GO to Brampton Gateway Terminal with 19 stops. Global News reported in April 2026 that Metrolinx aims to finish construction by spring 2028, not counting the downtown loop.

Source: TRREB Market Watch, August 2026, condominium apartments. Calculated rows are my arithmetic: active listings divided by sales, and sales divided by new listings. One month of data; Brampton’s 21 sales are a small sample.

TRREB’s monthly Market Watch reports Mississauga as one municipality. It does not publish a City Centre figure, and it never publishes a figure for a single building. So nothing in this table is a price for Absolute World. It is the backdrop your unit sells against.

Two things stand out. Mississauga’s average ($495,052) sat slightly below its median ($500,000), so luxury sales did not skew the month. And supply was heavy: 849 active listings against 109 sales is about 7.8 months of inventory, against 5.6 in the City of Toronto (my arithmetic). Units that sold went for 97 percent of list price after 45 days.

A landmark building helps a listing get noticed; it does not let a seller ignore the 849 other listings in the city.

What moves a unit’s value in a building like Absolute World

Here, add the geometry: I check the floor plan for the exact floor, not just the unit number, and compare balcony area separately from interior area.

  • Floor and view. Higher floors and open views usually outsell lower floors facing another tower, within limits set by the next building over.
  • Exposure. Light matters in a glass tower. See how north, south, east and west exposures compare.
  • Layout, not just square footage. A true two-bedroom with a door on each bedroom outsells a one-plus-den with the same area. Wasted hallway space costs you.
  • Parking and locker. In a transit-served downtown some buyers skip parking, but many Mississauga buyers still drive. A unit with a space has the bigger buyer pool.
  • Maintenance fees. Lenders count half of the monthly condo fee when they test a buyer’s debt ratios under CMHC’s GDS and TDS limits of 39 and 44 percent, so a higher fee can shrink what a buyer qualifies for. More in do high maintenance fees lower my condo value.
  • Tenancy. A tenanted unit sells to a smaller pool. See how much less a tenanted condo is worth.

What to check in the status certificate and reserve fund study

Every resale in Absolute World should be conditional on a lawyer reviewing the status certificate. Under section 76 of the Condominium Act the corporation must deliver it within 10 days of a request, and it can charge up to $100 including tax, according to the Condominium Authority of Ontario. It includes the declaration, by-laws and rules, the budget, the latest financial statements, a statement on the most recent reserve fund study and the state of the reserve fund, insurance, and any special assessment or arrears.

  • Reserve fund. The CAO says reserve fund studies alternate between class 2 and class 3 updates at least every three years, and a new condominium needs a comprehensive class 1 study within its first year after registration. Ask whether the latest plan calls for steep fee increases.
  • Special assessments. Any levy already approved should be dealt with in the agreement of purchase and sale. See does a special assessment lower my condo value.
  • Rules, litigation and insurance. Leasing and pet rules, any lawsuit involving the corporation, and the deductible an owner could be charged back all belong in your lawyer’s review.

These towers were completed in 2012, so they are past their early years and into the phase where reserve fund studies start to plan for bigger components. Read what the latest study says about the next ten years, not just the current balance. Units here were first occupied well before 15 November 2018, so if a unit is tenanted, Ontario’s rent increase guideline (2.1 percent for 2026) applies to that tenancy; confirm with your lawyer.

Selling or buying in Absolute World: how to price a unit

Start with the last three to six months of sold data for your exact layout and stack in the building, then adjust for floor, view, parking, locker and condition. Then check what is listed right now; with nearly eight months of supply in Mississauga, the listings a buyer tours the same weekend matter as much as last spring’s best sale.

If nothing in your layout has sold recently, use the method in how to price a condo when nothing in your building has sold: similar suites in comparable nearby towers, adjusted one factor at a time. Online automated numbers often miss floor and view, which is why I explain why online condo estimates can be off. For the wider picture, see how much a condo is worth in Mississauga, and for the rest of the corridor, my Mississauga City Centre condo buildings guide, including the M City towers a few blocks west.

Condo Valuation

What’s your condo
worth today?

Three quick steps. Condos don’t price like houses — your floor, your view, and whether you own parking move the number more than anything else. This weighs all of them.

That happens constantly in condos — one has the parking, the right exposure, or a board that keeps the reserve fund healthy. A model can’t see your status certificate. I can.

How this works — your estimate comes from a model built on recent Toronto & GTA condo sale data, weighting area, size, layout, floor, exposure, view, parking, locker, age and condition. It is an automated estimate for information only — not an appraisal and not a Comparative Market Analysis. Condo values also depend on the building’s reserve fund, maintenance fees, recent special assessments and status certificate, none of which a model can read. Frequently asked questions

How many storeys are the Absolute World towers?

CTBUH lists 60 Absolute Avenue at 56 floors and 175.6 metres, and 50 Absolute Avenue at 50 floors and 157.9 metres. Both were completed in 2012. Dezeen’s 2012 feature gives the same storey counts with rounded heights of about 170 and 150 metres.

Who built the Marilyn Monroe towers in Mississauga?

The towers were developed by Fernbrook Homes and Cityzen Development Group and designed by MAD Architects, with Burka Architects as the local architect of record, according to CTBUH and Dezeen. They were completed in 2012 at Hurontario Street and Burnhamthorpe Road.

How many units are in Absolute World?

CTBUH lists 427 apartments at 60 Absolute Avenue and 453 at 50 Absolute Avenue, about 880 in the two twisting towers combined by my arithmetic. The wider Absolute complex includes other buildings not counted here.

How much is a condo worth at 50 or 60 Absolute Avenue?

TRREB does not publish building-level prices. Across Mississauga, condo apartments sold at a $500,000 median in August 2026. Your unit’s value depends on the floor, the shape of that floor’s plate, view, parking and fees, so price from sales of the same stack and floor band.

Why do Absolute World floor plans change from floor to floor?

Each floor plate rotates by one to eight degrees from the one below, according to Dezeen. That creates the twist, and it means balcony depth and room shapes can differ between floors, so two units with the same suite number may not be true comparables.

Is Absolute World near the Hurontario LRT?

Yes, the towers are on Hurontario Street, the route of Metrolinx’s Hazel McCallion Line. The line is still under construction; Global News reported in April 2026 that Metrolinx aims to finish construction by spring 2028.
