Get My Free Estimate →Skylofts II at 200 Manitoba Street is a six-storey, 206-unit loft building in Mimico’s Mystic Pointe, registered on 14 March 2002.
The ceilings are the point: sources describe 17-foot heights, two-storey window walls, fireplaces and hardwood. It is one phase of a larger Mystic Pointe community whose other buildings are separate condominium corporations. The widely repeated story that this specific building was a distillery, I could not confirm — and I explain why that matters.
The building
Six storeys, 206 units, registered March 2002. One source names Camrost-Felcorp as developer; that is a single source and I would treat it as likely rather than certain. The corporation is reported as TSCC 1437, and the property manager as Mareka Property Management — again, single-sourced, and management contracts change.
Published suite sizes run from about 626 to 1,401 square feet, spanning one-bedroom to two-bedroom-plus-den. Loft square footage is deceptive in both directions: a 900-foot loft with 17-foot ceilings lives much larger than a 900-foot flat, and much smaller than you expect once you realise how little of that volume is usable storage.
What makes it a loft, and what that costs
Two sources independently describe 17-foot ceilings, two-storey window walls, fireplaces and hardwood floors. This is the real thing, not a marketing label.
The honest trade-offs, which I say to every client who falls for a loft photograph:
- Heating and cooling a double-height volume costs more. Warm air goes up and stays there. Ask about the HVAC and what the fee covers.
- Two-storey window walls are a major common element. Glazing and sealant replacement on that scale is expensive, and it is a reserve fund line item. On a 2002 building, that horizon is no longer distant.
- Sound travels vertically. Mezzanines are not bedrooms with doors.
- Window coverings for a two-storey wall are a four-figure cost that nobody mentions until you move in.
Mystic Pointe is several corporations, not one
Skylofts II is one phase of a larger community. The others include the Warehouse Lofts at 250 and 300 Manitoba Street and Legend at Mystic Pointe at 190 Manitoba. They are separate condominium corporations with separate declarations, fees, reserves and boards.
One database describes a rooftop hot tub and squash courts as available “within the Mystic Pointe gated community” — which is a careful way of saying they may not belong to 200 Manitoba Street. Building-specific amenities that sources do list for this address include a gym, party room, meeting room, guest suites, a parking garage and a rooftop terrace with barbecue; another source adds a billiards lounge, squash court and sauna.
Before you buy on the strength of an amenity, ask which corporation owns it and whether your corporation has any right to use it. That is a document question, not a website question.
The distillery story
A loft-specialist source states that the Mystic Pointe lofts are a conversion of the L.J. McGuinness Distillers building, six storeys, converted in 2001, describing “two connected buildings linked by a rooftop terrace.”
What that source does not make clear is whether it is describing 200 Manitoba Street specifically, or the 250 and 300 Manitoba Warehouse Lofts phase. Those are different buildings and different corporations.
So I will tell you what is solid: Mystic Pointe sits on former industrial land in Mimico, and the lofts there came out of that industrial fabric. Whether your specific building was the McGuinness distillery, I cannot confirm, and I would not repeat it as fact. This is precisely the kind of claim that gets copied from blog to blog until everyone believes it.
Transit
One database gives Old Mill subway station as a 28-minute walk and names TTC route 176 stopping at Manitoba Street and Legion Road. No source I found gives a walking time to Mimico GO for this specific address, though the station is in the area.
Twenty-eight minutes to a subway is not a commute most people will make daily. Realistically this is a bus, GO train or car neighbourhood, with the Gardiner close by. That is the honest picture.
What I could not verify
- The architect. No source names one.
- The developer beyond a single-source Camrost-Felcorp attribution.
- Whether 200 Manitoba specifically is the former distillery building.
- Which amenities are exclusive to this corporation and which are community-wide.
- Any published litigation, special assessment or major repair — none found, which is not the same as none existing.
The takeaway
Skylofts II is a real hard loft with the ceiling heights to prove it, in a Mimico community built out of former industrial land. Buy it for the volume and the light. Before you do, ask three questions the internet cannot answer: which corporation owns the amenity you liked, when the two-storey window walls are scheduled for work in the reserve fund study, and what the actual heating cost of a double-height suite has been for the current owner.

Frequently asked questions
How high are the ceilings at Mystic Pointe Skylofts II?
Sources describe 17-foot ceilings with two-storey window walls, along with fireplaces and hardwood floors. It is a genuine hard loft rather than a new building styled to look like one.
Was 200 Manitoba Street a distillery?
Unconfirmed. A loft-specialist source describes the Mystic Pointe lofts as a conversion of the L.J. McGuinness Distillers building, but does not make clear whether that applies to 200 Manitoba or to the 250 and 300 Manitoba Warehouse Lofts phase. What is solid is that Mystic Pointe sits on former industrial land in Mimico.
Are all the Mystic Pointe buildings one condominium corporation?
No. Skylofts II at 200 Manitoba, the Warehouse Lofts at 250 and 300 Manitoba, and Legend at Mystic Pointe at 190 Manitoba are separate corporations with separate declarations, fees, reserve funds and boards.
What should I watch for in the reserve fund of a loft building?
Glazing. Two-storey window walls are a large, expensive common element, and on a building registered in 2002 that work is no longer far off. Read the reserve fund study specifically for envelope and window replacement timing and funding.
How far is Skylofts II from the subway?
One database gives Old Mill station as a 28-minute walk, with TTC route 176 stopping at Manitoba Street and Legion Road. That is not a daily walking commute for most people — treat this as a bus, GO train or car neighbourhood.
How big are the suites at 200 Manitoba Street?
Published sizes run roughly 626 to 1,401 square feet, from one-bedroom to two-bedroom-plus-den. Remember that loft square footage lives differently: the volume feels larger, and usable storage is smaller, than the number suggests.
