Living here
Renters, Airbnb and elevators at 56-62 Sidney Belsey Crescent Condos
Do mostly owners or renters live here?
Too few deals in the last 24 months to read the owner and renter mix reliably. Ask me and I will pull the building’s history.
Can you Airbnb a unit at 56-62 Sidney Belsey Crescent Condos?
No active City registrations here right now. In Toronto you can only host in your principal residence, a whole unit for at most 180 nights a year, with a $390 yearly registration and 6% accommodation tax. You cannot buy here to run it as a full-time Airbnb. Check the condo’s rules in the status certificate before you count on it.
How reliable are the elevators?
Ontario requires residential buildings to report any elevator outage lasting 48 hours or more, and this address has none on record. Elevators still need modernizing every 25 to 30 years, so check the reserve fund study for the date.

Before you buy here
Five things the listing will not tell you about 56-62 Sidney Belsey Crescent Condos
- Reserve fund health. Ask for the latest reserve fund study and its date. A thin fund in an older building usually means fee jumps or a special assessment.
- Special assessments and big repairs. Check the status certificate for planned levies and for balcony, garage, window or elevator work.
- Insurance deductible. Find the corporation’s deductible for water damage. If it is higher than your own policy covers, raise your coverage before closing.
- Fee trend. Compare this year’s budget with last year’s. Rises of 2–5% a year are typical; bigger jumps need an explanation.
- Lawsuits and rules. Look for legal claims against the corporation, and for rules on pets, short-term rentals and leasing.
Send me the status certificate and I will flag anything that matters before your conditional period runs out.

Sidney Belsey Crescent is one of the few places in northwest Toronto where a family-sized condo still sits within reach of a first-time buyer’s budget. The complex at 56 to 62 is a three-storey, 64-unit corporation from 2000, and it shares the crescent with several other small corporations that look alike from the street but are run separately. Knowing which one you are buying into is the first job. I’m Jatin Dua, RE/MAX Quantum Realty.
Quick answer
56-62 Sidney Belsey Crescent Condos is a three-storey condominium townhouse complex of 64 units at 56 to 62 Sidney Belsey Crescent, near Jane Street and Weston Road in the Mount Dennis area of the former City of York, in northwest Toronto. It was built in 2000. The condominium corporation is MTCC-1292, registered on 9 February 2000, and condos.ca lists ICC Property Management as the property manager. Condos.ca does not list a developer or the fee inclusions for this complex, so confirm both in the status certificate.
56-62 Sidney Belsey Crescent Condos at a glance
One crescent, several corporations
Sidney Belsey Crescent is lined with low-rise condominiums that went up within a few years of each other. Courtyard Villas at 50 to 54 and Riverboat Landing Courtyard Villas at 64 and 66 are separate corporations, and so is the twin complex at 68 to 74, which is MTCC-1320. This one, at 56 to 62, is MTCC-1292.
That matters more than it sounds. Each corporation has its own budget, reserve fund, board and rules, so two homes that look identical across a parking lane can carry quite different fees and quite different repair plans. When you see a Sidney Belsey listing, check the address and the corporation number before you compare it with anything else on the street.
Condos.ca does not name a developer for this complex. Its neighbours, Courtyard Villas and Riverboat Landing, were built by B.G. Schickedanz Homes, and the timing and look suggest a related origin, but I have not confirmed who built 56 to 62. The declaration on title will tell you.
The format: suites on three floors
Condos.ca classes the complex as townhouses, three storeys high. Listings here use suite numbers in the 100s, 200s and 300s, which points to homes stacked on different floors of each building rather than one family per vertical slice from ground to roof. Ask for the floor plan and confirm exactly which levels the home occupies.
The format changes the checks. A ground-level home may have a patio and the easiest access. An upper home may have more light and no one overhead, but more stairs, and a three-storey low-rise often has no elevator. If anyone in the household struggles with stairs, that is a deciding question, not a detail.
The one home currently listed is described as a three-bedroom, which tells you these plans were designed for families rather than singles. Condos.ca had no recorded size range for this complex, so measure the rooms or ask for the builder’s plan rather than relying on a listing’s estimate.

Mount Dennis has changed around it
For most of this complex’s life, Mount Dennis was a neighbourhood you drove out of. That has changed. Mount Dennis station opened to GO Kitchener line and UP Express trains in late 2025, and Line 5 Eglinton opened on 8 February 2026, with Mount Dennis as its western end. The panel on this page shows the actual walking time, so use that rather than any listing’s description.
The next change is on the crescent itself. BGS Homes has a pre-construction proposal at 300 Sidney Belsey Crescent for four market-rental towers of 20, 20, 22 and 24 storeys, with 1,204 units and retail space, designed by M. Shami Architect. If it is built, owners here should expect years of construction nearby, then more people, more traffic and probably more shops within walking distance.
Whether that helps you depends on how long you plan to stay. A long-term owner may welcome the retail and the activity. A buyer who wants quiet, or who may need to sell during construction, should look up the application’s status with the City before firming up.
A 2000 complex in its repair years
At 26 years old, this complex is in the stage where roofs, windows and balcony doors, exterior sealants, paving and any underground parking structure come due, often within a few years of each other. With 64 owners sharing each bill, a large project is noticeable but manageable if the corporation has saved for it.
Read the reserve fund study with those items in mind and check when each one was last done. Then read recent board minutes for anything the study does not show yet, such as an upcoming exterior project or a change in managers. The status certificate will tell you whether any special assessment is on the books.
Parking deserves its own question. Condos.ca does not list parking or lockers for this complex, so ask whether the home comes with a space, whether it is owned or assigned, and whether it sits in a garage or on the surface. In a family complex, a second car with nowhere to go is a daily problem, and visitor parking on a busy crescent will matter more once the towers proposed nearby fill up.
Pricing a complex that rarely trades
At the time of writing there was one home for sale here and none for lease. I do not quote a single listing’s asking price or fee, and condos.ca did not publish a building price per square foot, so there is no reliable building average to anchor on.
The data panel on this page shows the recorded sales and leases. Beyond those, the right comparisons are the other corporations on this crescent, adjusted for fees, size and which floor the home is on, and then older family-sized condo apartments around Weston Road and Jane Street. A three-bedroom here often competes with a two-bedroom-plus-den in a tower on price, and gives you more room and fewer neighbours sharing your walls.
Fees deserve the closest look. Ask what the fee includes, especially water, heat and parking, because the answer changes the comparison with a tower apartment a lot. I can pull the comparables for every Sidney Belsey corporation through my building sold report.

Jatin’s honest take on 56-62 Sidney Belsey Crescent Condos
Who this building suits
Families and first-time buyers who need three bedrooms in northwest Toronto and cannot stretch to a freehold house, and commuters who will actually use the new Mount Dennis rail connections. It also suits buyers who prefer a low-rise with a few dozen neighbours to a tower with hundreds.
What I’d want you to check
Confirm that the home is in MTCC-1292 and not one of the other Sidney Belsey corporations, then confirm the fee inclusions, the floor plan and which levels the home occupies. Read the reserve fund study for the roofs, windows, paving and any underground garage, and read the minutes. Check the status of the 300 Sidney Belsey Crescent application, and confirm parking and locker arrangements, which condos.ca does not list.
The value question
The value case is space and transit at a price that is hard to find elsewhere in the city. You give up new finishes and amenities and take on the repair cycle of a 26-year-old complex. If the reserve fund is healthy, I think it is a sensible buy for an owner-occupier planning to stay through the changes on the street. If it is thin, build that into your offer.
