Get My Free Estimate →Triumph at Valhalla, 9 Valhalla Inn Road, is a 29-storey tower of 298 suites, completed in 2016 — the third and final phase of Edilcan’s One Valhalla community.
The 298 figure is the best-confirmed unit count of any building I have researched in this area: three independent sources agree. The honest thing to know before buying is the commute. This is a bus-to-Kipling building, roughly fifteen minutes on the 111 East Mall, not a walk-to-the-subway building.
Well-confirmed facts
Three independent sources — two listing databases and the UrbanToronto project database — agree on the core numbers, which is unusual.
- 29 storeys, consistent with UrbanToronto’s listing of the four One Valhalla buildings at 35, 29, 22 and 3 storeys.
- 298 suites. The strongest unit figure in the entire One Valhalla community.
- Completed 2016, developed by Edilcan Development Corporation.
- Third and final phase. The UrbanToronto project is literally named “One Valhalla Towns & Condos + Triumph Phase Three,” and a listing database describes Triumph the same way.
The architect for the overall project is Page + Steele / IBI Architects. No source names an architect for this specific tower separately, but it is the same project team.
A site-history claim worth correcting
One source describes Triumph as “converted from historic motel site.” That phrasing invites a reader to think the building was converted from a motel structure. It was not.
The Valhalla Inn, a 1963 motor inn, stood on the wider One Valhalla lands and was demolished. Triumph was built new on the cleared site. Nothing was converted. If a listing tells you otherwise, it is repeating that loose phrase.
Amenities, and the shared-facility question
Published lists for 9 Valhalla Inn Road include concierge, security system, indoor parking, rooftop deck, gym, bike storage, indoor pool, sauna, party room, guest suites, visitor parking, meeting room and permitted barbecues.
The same caution applies as at the other One Valhalla towers: the pool, theatre and podium courtyard are, on the evidence, community facilities across the One Valhalla development rather than exclusive to any one corporation. That is not a problem — shared amenities across phases are normal and often keep costs down. But it does mean there is a shared facilities agreement governing who pays for what, and it is disclosed with the status certificate. Read it before you form a view about the fee.
Finishes: one claim worth checking
One source mentions granite or quartz countertops, Energy Star appliances and floor-to-ceiling windows. Floor-to-ceiling glazing is visible from the street and not in dispute. The Energy Star appliance claim comes from a single database, and appliances get replaced by owners over a decade anyway. Do not pay for it as a building feature; look at what is actually in the suite.
The commute, stated plainly
A source describes the 111 East Mall bus reaching Kipling station on Line 2 in roughly fifteen minutes, with strong access to Highway 427 and the Gardiner.
I want to be direct, because this is where buyers get disappointed. Fifteen minutes on a bus, plus waiting time, plus the subway ride, is a real commute. In exchange you get lower price per square foot than the Islington-area buildings, genuinely excellent highway access, and a large landscaped podium you would not find downtown. For a car-primary household that is often the better deal. For someone who will ride Line 2 every day, Viking Lane or Michael Power Place will suit better — and I would rather tell you that than sell you the wrong building.
What I could not verify
- The corporation number beyond a reported TSCC 2543, single source.
- The current property manager (FirstService Residential is named; contracts change).
- The registration date, as distinct from the 2016 completion year.
- Whether amenities are tower-exclusive or community-shared — the single most important open question here.
- Suite size range: one source gives 536–1,236 square feet, another 500–1,299. Both are listing-derived.
- Any published litigation or special assessment. None found; the status certificate is where that answer lives.
The takeaway
Triumph is the last and one of the largest phases of a well-executed master-planned community, with the most reliably confirmed unit count in the area and podium amenities that genuinely get used. The trade is the commute — a fifteen-minute bus to Kipling rather than a walk. Buy it for the space, the podium and the highway access, not for a subway walk it does not have, and read the shared facilities agreement before you judge the fee.

Frequently asked questions
How many units are in Triumph at Valhalla?
298, across 29 storeys, completed in 2016. Three independent sources agree on the unit count, making it the best-confirmed figure of any building in the One Valhalla community.
Is Triumph at Valhalla a converted motel?
No. The Valhalla Inn, a 1963 motor inn, stood on the wider site and was demolished; Triumph was built new on the cleared land. One source’s phrase “converted from historic motel site” is loose wording, not a description of the building.
How do you get to the subway from 9 Valhalla Inn Road?
By bus. The 111 East Mall reaches Kipling station on Line 2 in roughly fifteen minutes according to published sources. This is not a walk-to-subway building; it is a bus-or-drive building with excellent Highway 427 and Gardiner access.
Which phase of One Valhalla is Triumph?
The third and final phase. The four One Valhalla buildings are listed at 35, 29, 22 and 3 storeys, plus 68 townhomes; Triumph is the 29-storey tower.
Are the pool and theatre exclusive to Triumph?
Probably not. The evidence suggests the pool, theatre and podium courtyard are One Valhalla community facilities shared across phases. Ask for the shared facilities agreement with the status certificate to see what your corporation actually owns and pays for.
How big are the suites at Triumph at Valhalla?
Published ranges are 536–1,236 square feet from one source and 500–1,299 from another. Both are derived from listing history rather than builder specifications, so confirm the specific suite.
