Living here
Renters, Airbnb and elevators at 1180 Sandhurst Townhouses
Do mostly owners or renters live here?
Too few deals in the last 24 months to read the owner and renter mix reliably. Ask me and I will pull the building’s history.
Can you Airbnb a unit at 1180 Sandhurst Townhouses?
No active City registrations here right now. In Toronto you can only host in your principal residence, a whole unit for at most 180 nights a year, with a $390 yearly registration and 6% accommodation tax. You cannot buy here to run it as a full-time Airbnb. Check the condo’s rules in the status certificate before you count on it.
How reliable are the elevators?
Ontario requires residential buildings to report any elevator outage lasting 48 hours or more, and this address has none on record. Elevators still need modernizing every 25 to 30 years, so check the reserve fund study for the date.

Before you buy here
Five things the listing will not tell you about 1180 Sandhurst Townhouses
- Reserve fund health. Ask for the latest reserve fund study and its date. A thin fund in an older building usually means fee jumps or a special assessment.
- Special assessments and big repairs. Check the status certificate for planned levies and for balcony, garage, window or elevator work.
- Insurance deductible. Find the corporation’s deductible for water damage. If it is higher than your own policy covers, raise your coverage before closing.
- Fee trend. Compare this year’s budget with last year’s. Rises of 2–5% a year are typical; bigger jumps need an explanation.
- Lawsuits and rules. Look for legal claims against the corporation, and for rules on pets, short-term rentals and leasing.
Send me the status certificate and I will flag anything that matters before your conditional period runs out.

1180 Sandhurst Townhouses is a 40-home condominium townhouse complex from 1977 on Sandhurst Circle in Agincourt North, close to Woodside Square. The homes themselves are a known quantity. The question worth your time is what happens next door, because the City has spent years working out how the mall lands could take new housing and a park. I’m Jatin Dua, RE/MAX Quantum Realty.
Quick answer
1180 Sandhurst Townhouses is a condominium townhouse complex of 40 homes at 1180 Sandhurst Circle, Scarborough, Toronto M1V 1T8, in Agincourt North near McCowan Road and Finch Avenue East. It was built in 1977, and the condominium corporation, YCC-360, was registered on 31 October 1977. Condos.ca lists ICC Property Management as the manager and lists barbecues permitted, a parking garage and visitor parking. I could not confirm the builder, and condos.ca does not list what the fee includes.
1180 Sandhurst Townhouses at a glance
The Woodside Square question
Woodside Square is the two-storey mall at 1571 Sandhurst Circle, on the northwest corner of Finch and McCowan. It opened in 1977, the same year this complex was registered, and the two have grown up together. For residents it is the local grocery run, pharmacy and library in one place.
In October 2019, City Council directed planning staff to begin a review of the Woodside Square lands after the owner signalled interest in adding housing and parkland. The mall itself is proposed to stay. A rezoning application followed, and in May 2022 Council adopted draft policy directions as the basis for further consultation and for reviewing any rezoning on the site.
For an owner at 1180 Sandhurst, that cuts both ways. New homes and a park on what is now mall parking could bring more shops, more services and better public space close by. It could also bring years of construction traffic on Sandhurst Circle and taller buildings on your skyline.
Before you buy, check the City’s Application Information Centre for the current status of the Woodside application, and ask the board whether the corporation has commented on it. A board that has followed the process closely is usually a board that follows its own building closely too.
Forty homes, one corporation
With 40 homes, YCC-360 is a small corporation. Every major repair is shared among relatively few owners, so a roof program or a repaving job lands harder per household than it would in a larger complex. The reserve fund study is the document that tells you whether the corporation has been saving for that.
Sandhurst Circle is lined with townhouse corporations from the same era, including 30 Buddleswood Court, 88 Buddleswood Court and the Thunder Grove complexes. Each is separate. When you see two listings on Sandhurst Circle, do not assume they share a fee, a manager or a reserve fund; check the corporation number on the status certificate.
Condos.ca lists ICC Property Management as the manager here. Ask how long they have managed the corporation and whether the board has changed managers recently, because continuity in management usually shows up in the quality of the records you will be reading.
It is also worth asking how often the board changes and whether owners turn out for the annual general meeting. In a 40-home corporation, a handful of engaged owners can shape decisions, and it helps to know who they are before you move in.

Garages, visitor parking and outdoor space
Condos.ca lists a parking garage, visitor parking and barbecues permitted. In a 1977 townhouse complex, a parking garage normally means a garage built into each home, which gives you storage space as well as a covered spot for the car. Confirm it for the specific home, along with whether the driveway is yours to use exclusively.
Being allowed to barbecue tells you something about the lifestyle: this is a place where people use their patios. Check the rules for where grills can sit and what fuel is allowed, and ask whether patios and fences are the owner’s to maintain or the corporation’s.
Visitor parking is the other thing to test in person. Sites laid out in the 1970s were planned for fewer cars per household than most families have today, so walk the visitor spaces on a weekday evening and ask the manager how overflow parking is handled.
Buying a 1977 townhouse well
I could not find published floor plans or a size range for this complex, so compare homes room by room rather than by listed square footage. Look at how the basement is finished, the ceiling height down there, and whether there is any sign of past water.
At this age, the shared items that drive costs are roofs, windows and doors, the internal road and parking surfaces, and the underground water and sewer lines. Ask the manager which of these have been replaced, and when the reserve fund study says the rest will be due.
Inside each home, the owner’s side of the ledger usually includes the furnace, air conditioner, water heater and electrical panel, but the declaration is the final word. A home inspection that covers those systems is money well spent on a house that is nearly 50 years old.
What 1180 Sandhurst Townhouses costs
There were no active listings when I checked, and condos.ca does not give a square-foot average or a fee range for this complex. A 40-home corporation simply does not produce many sales in any given year.
That means you have to widen the lens. Recent sales here and in the other 1970s townhouse corporations around Sandhurst Circle are the right comparables, adjusted for size, basement finish, condition and the state of each corporation’s finances. The panel on this page shows recorded sale figures, and I can prepare a building sold report if you are weighing an offer.
On the monthly side, ask for the current budget and fee history. The Woodside plans may make this pocket more valuable over time, but they will not pay for a roof, so judge the fee against what the reserve fund study says is coming.
Add the costs that sit outside the fee: hydro, gas, insurance for your own unit, and the furnace, air conditioner and water heater if the declaration makes them yours. Ask the seller for a year of utility bills.

Amenities at 1180 Sandhurst Townhouses
There is no amenity floor here, just garages, visitor parking and permission to barbecue. For a townhouse owner that is the right list: the money goes into the homes and grounds, and Woodside Square fills the role a party room or shared lounge might play elsewhere.
Jatin’s honest take on 1180 Sandhurst Townhouses
Who this building suits
Families and first-time buyers who want a townhouse with a garage in Agincourt North, and anyone who values having groceries, a pharmacy and a library close by. It also suits patient owners who are comfortable living through some change in exchange for a neighbourhood that may gain new housing, parkland and the subway terminus to the south.
What I’d want you to check
Check the status of the Woodside Square application and what it could mean for the streets around you. Read the reserve fund study with a focus on roofs, paving and underground services, since 40 owners share those bills. Confirm the declaration’s split of responsibilities, the garage and driveway arrangement, and the fee history, and get a full home inspection.
The value question
The value case is a well-located 1977 townhouse in a small corporation, next to a mall the City is planning around and north of the new Sheppard and McCowan subway terminus. If the corporation is well funded, that is a reasonable long-term bet. If it is not, the location will not save you from a special assessment, so let the documents decide the price.
